This weekend was spent down in the South of Hungary, doing some orienteering on technical sand dunes. The map is attached and you can see the intricacy of the terrain. The weather, unfortunately, has turned very wintry. Roy came on Saturday, but opted out of Sunday, so I went down with some friends. I made no mistakes on either day, although not all my route choices were particularly optimum. Managed to win both days and now am a proud owner of a certificate. This was definitely the last event of the season, although there are going to be quite a few training events during the winter, depending on the weather, of course. 7 events are planned in the Vertes mountains and 2 or 3 in the Matra.
On Saturday night we went to a really good flatwarming party at one of our orienteering friends. She managed to sell her old panel block flat and invested in a new-build apartment in one of the up and coming parts of Budapest. We all had a really good time.
Monday was spent Christmas shopping and planning the course for the Trail-O Clinic I am running on 8th December. Now we are back in Ber and further work included building work for Roy, translating and course planning work for me. Canada is getting closer and we are getting quite excited.
